Re: Safety Plan / COVID-19 Protocol

In accordance with the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines for Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) Whitecastle Tours has implemented the following COVID-19 Protocol

Stay Home When Sick

Motorcoach operators and coach cleaners self-evaluate for signs and symptoms of illness prior to reporting for duty. A manager is notified immediately if there are any positive signs to allow sufficient time to arrange for a replacement and to assist with contact tracing.

Personal Protective Equipment

CDC recommends wearing face coverings in public settings. All staff will adhere to current PPE guidelines. This currently includes mandatory face coverings for motorcoach operators and passengers. If someone does not have a face covering, Whitecastle Tours will provide one at no charge. Gloves are optional while driving but should be worn if it becomes necessary to assist passengers or handle luggage.

Limit Contact

All staff will adhere to current social distancing guidelines. The drivers are to avoid close contact with passengers and maintain a distance of six feet apart whenever possible. Motorcoach operators will politely request passengers to handle their own luggage during loading and unloading to limit cross-contamination.

Cleaning & Disinfecting

Motorcoaches are sanitized prior to each trip using sanitizer containing Quatemary ammonium (EPA Reg. No. 10324-63). This is applied with a spray trigger device on high-touch surfaces such as handrails, seat arms, handles, and all lavatory surfaces. FRESH STARTâ„¢ antimicrobial disinfectant (EPA Reg. No. 82972-1-90639) is also used periodically to sanitize coaches. The disinfectant is applied to all areas of the coach using a fogger. This includes the passenger area, lavatory, overhead bins, and lower luggage bays. The process helps to reduce the likelihood of cross-contamination and is more effective than wiping.

Practice Everyday Prevention Actions

Avoid touching eyes, nose, or mouths and washing hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. The hand sanitizers to be used will contain at least 60% alcohol to be effective. Motorcoach operators will continue to practice hand hygiene at appropriate times. Especially before and after eating food, using a restroom, during work breaks, when making telephone calls, exchanging money, pumping fuel, and after handling passengers’ personal belongings when unavoidable. The Prevost H3-45 utilized by Whitecastle Tours does not allow for recirculating air in the passenger area.

Passenger Responsibilities

Motorcoach operators will request passengers wear a face covering at all times. For safety reasons, they may refuse to transport anyone who appears visibly ill. Dispatch should be contacted whenever problems relating to this protocol are encountered.
