We were all impacted in different ways when the pandemic started. Healthcare workers were among the hardest hit. Many frontline healthcare workers felt the rapid and intense impact of the pandemic. When Whitecastle Tours Sales Manager Kenneth Paterson asked the Livermore Valley Chamber of Commerce how we could help, we were put in touch with Executive Chef Abe Ahmari of Garre’ Winery.
Chef Abe and his team were able to prepare meals for frontline healthcare workers with food donated by his suppliers, but he needed a way to transport all those meals. Whitecastle Tours volunteered the use of motorcoaches and drivers to deliver those delicious meals to hospitals and ambulance stations throughout the East Bay region. Hayward Falck Ambulance
As time passed, the Livermore Valley Chamber of Commerce worked with Garre’ Winery to set up a Go Fund Me page to help cover the costs of additional meals. Garre’ Winery and Whitecastle Tours were able to provide thousands of meals to frontline healthcare workers over a two-month period.
At the Virtual #LivValBiz Awards 2020, the Livermore Valley Chamber of Commerce recognized Garre’ Winery and Whitecastle Tours with the Community Minded Award.
